About Dr Ali Morse

About Ali

Dr Ali Morse is passionate about supporting the emotional and social development of individuals. She has extensive experience working with young children, adolescents, and families.

Qualifications

Ali holds two Bachelor degrees (Education and Science) and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She is a registered Clinical Psychologist and has completed her PhD in autism.

Experience

Ali has worked as a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) support provider since 2013. She currently works with NDIS participants who are self- or plan-managed.

Ali is dedicated to understanding her clients and providing personalised psychological care by utilising the most appropriate and evidence-based interventions to meet each client’s unique needs. Her therapeutic style reflects her holistic approach to mental health care. Ali recognises the diverse backgrounds and experiences of her clients and has cultivated an inclusive and affirming environment where neurodivergent individuals and those from the LGBTQIA+ community are welcomed and supported.

Ali is skilled at treating a wide range of mental health issues, drawing from therapeutic models including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy. Ali is a trained facilitator in Paediatric Autism Communication Therapy (PACT), a specific therapy program for autistic children (2-11 years) which promotes the development of social communication and ensures that each child has the opportunity to connect and engage with the world around them (for more on PACT click here). In December 2024, Ali is looking forward to adding Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to her skill set.

Age group

Ali works with individuals and families of all ages and abilities across the lifespan.

Areas of interest

Ali has a particular interest in working with individuals who have neurodevelopmental conditions and/or behavioural challenges. Ali enjoys working with families using a family systems approach. This method considers the family as the client rather than one individual from the family unit. Family members are invited to participate in finding solutions to the current presenting issue(s). Ali has a special interest in autism across the lifespan (all ages). She has specific training and experience in psychological assessment of autism, cognitive abilities, and learning difficulties, as well as challenges with memory, attention, behaviour, social skills, mental health, and wellbeing. Ali is keen to work collaboratively with medical professionals (GPs, Paediatricians, Psychiatrists), allied health professionals (Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Pathologists), teachers, and School Psychologists to conduct thorough assessments and develop behavioural support plans.
