Lydia Black brings over 15 years of experience in clinical and performance psychology. She has worked extensively in various mental health areas, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, women's hormone-related mental health challenges, perinatal and infant mental health, and supporting children and adolescents with autism and ADHD. Her client-centred therapy integrates Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for trauma, and Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM) for eating disorders, each tailored to her clients' unique needs.

Before transitioning to private practice, Lydia worked as a school psychologist in Australia and overseas, providing essential mental health support to students and staff.

Lydia is a contracted psychologist for the Tasmanian Institute of Sport (TIS) and a member of the Australian Institute of Sport Mental Health Referral Network (AIS-MHRN). She works with athletes and coaches, from local amateurs to Olympians, in a range of sports. Additionally, she is contracted by the NBL team, the Tasmanian JackJumpers, to provide mental health and performance support.

As an educator and sought-after speaker, Lydia frequently shares her expertise at clubs and organisations. She also serves as a Mental Health Educator contracted by the Australian Institute of Sport, focusing on mental health in sports and enhancing athletic performance.

Lydia works with individuals aged eight years and older in our rooms in Battery Point and offers online appointments for those who are further away.
