Murray Kirkwood Clinical Psychologist 
About Murray Kirkwood 

Murray Kirkwood is a nationally registered Clinical Psychologist, holds a Master degree in Clinical Psychology, and is the founder of Sandy Bay Psychology in Hobart, Tasmania.

Applying evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, and others, Murray supports adults across an array of clinical presentations, including but not limited to, disorders of mood and anxiety, stress, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, and adjustment disorder related challenges. 

Murray has served in the military and has extensive work experience gained across a broad range of industry sectors, including: Allied Health, Aviation, Agriculture, Banking, Forestry, Rural Development, Human Factors, and Workplace Health & Safety, in both Australia and South Africa. Murray is well placed to offer clinical psychological support to ADF members, Veterans (DVA), and individuals within the corporate and workplace environments. 

Murray has particular clinical interests in workplace mental health and psychological wellbeing, providing support and consultation to both employers and employees in this area.

Holding a Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL), Murray is especially well placed to support those experiencing Fear of Flying (Aviophobia), as well as other phobias. Murray runs a Fear of Flying program, 'Cleared for Take-off!', and is currently investigating the therapeutic application of flight simulation and virtual reality technology (VRT) to treat Fear of Flying, and a host of other specific phobias.
